Before and After Dental Photo GalleryPopular Cosmetic Makeover DentistryFull mouth makeovers have become a popular term as a result of the now famous ABC-TV Extreme Makeover television program.Porcelain Veneer laminates in particular have become well know as the procedure of choice for creating immediate changes in cosmetic appearance, shading, cosmetic alignment and teeth spacing. 
There are several technology brands that are emerging including Procera, Cerec, Empress, IPS, Davinci ... just to name a few. With most veneering procedures, the individual tooth structures must be prepared (preped) for accommodating the veneer laminate material (more about Low Prep Veneers).Patient Goal: Great Looks - No GrindingOur patient, as seen in this photo, had nice looking teeth and excellent oral health.Nonetheless... she felt her smile was lacking certain characteristics she felt were needed... and therefore wanted. Our patient wanted a fuller and broader smile. She wanted to improve the appearance of teeth that were sloped inward. She also had some teeth that she wanted to be lengthened and others that needed more bulk, or thickness. 
Changing Lip Fullness and Smile HeightShe also wanted to alter her upper arch so it would provide the underlying foundation for creating normal lip movement and fullness when smiling. A popular treatment for creating full lips is the use of collagen injections. In many makeover treatment plans... Dr. Muslin's recreation of normal or re-optimized dental structures on the upper arch will restore (or create for the first time) fuller lips and more upward lip movement during smile behaviors.Custom Thin Shell VeneersWhile many cosmetic dental practices use a Nationally known veneer product with great success for their patients, Dr. Muslin prefers having his private ceramist develop a hybrid 100% porcelain laminate (not so with some veneer brands) that is ultra thin and yet possesses cosmetic qualities that overcome the common complaints of other thin veneer products that appear bulky, flat white, opaque and, reportedly, look like Chiclets gum squares. Strict tolerances are made for each and every veneer.. for maintaining the goal of eliminating the need for any tooth preparation.
At the patient's instruction, Dr. Muslin and his ceramist fabricated 10 premium veneers... each individually shaped to create the cosmetic and functional outcome desired by the patient.The 3rd and 4th photos in our series shows the dramatic differences in the alignment of the teeth, change in smile line and total elimination of the sloped teeth. Certain structures have more bulk and thickness (building out the buccal dimension) that creates a fuller smile. Notice how the lip thickness has changed significantly. Because the underlying upper arch structures were artistically modified with the veneer treatment, the foundation now exists that "causes" the upper lip to ride higher.
